An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan turned to real-life DIY and created a crocheted Cherry-Blossom Bonsai to celebrate the start of spring.
A fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrate spring with a pretty crochet cherry blossom bonsai tree. Although building in the game is part of what makes New Horizons so appealing to gamers, the items are equally cute for creating real-life projects. Furniture and decorations in bright colors like animal crossing‘s Froggy Chair, along with seasonal items from events like Cherry Blossom Season, provide fans with plenty of interesting items to carve, sew, or crochet during a break from island maintenance.
Currently, New Horizons players welcome spring with Cherry Blossom Season. The event runs from April 1 through April 10 in the Northern Hemisphere, giving players the chance to catch delicate pink petals in nets while exploring their islands. These petals can be used in DIY recipes like the Cherry-Blossom Wand, Cherry-Blossom Wallpaper, and Cherry-Blossom Pouch, among others. Soft pink and delicate decorations can be used in any season and help brighten up islands emerging from dreary winter days.
In celebration of New Horizons’ Cherry blossom season, Reddit user parcelsfromthursday shared an awesome crochet remake of the Cherry-Blossom Bonasi ornament. The detailed project features a sturdy crochet pot and a brown trunk that splits into two branches, with both sides heavily covered in pink flowers. Attention to detail and clean stitching makes the tree an adorable addition to any handmade product. New Horizons collection and shows how many in-game items can be adapted for crafting.
While past events in Animal Crossing: New Horizons received small content boosts for each new year, it doesn’t look like this will happen for the cherry blossom season in 2022. However, fans who have recently restarted their games or haven’t yet gotten all the DIY recipes for the event, will be able to get what is already included. Additionally, players who have yet to experience Cherry Blossom Season will unlock it as a possible rare destination for New Horizons‘ Kapp’n Boat tours, which were added in the 2.0 update last fall. Once available, players have a small chance of discovering a Cherry Blossom Island on boat tours at any time of the year, providing the ability to recharge petals for crafting.
Unfortunately, for those who have already collected or crafted the desired amount of floral elements for New Horizons’ Cherry blossom season, this year’s event may be less exciting than previous iterations. However, celebrating with cute crafts similar to the plots of Thursday’s Crochet Cherry Blossom Bonsai could be a great way to put a twist on a favorite event and give fans a way to share their love of New Horizons outside of the game. With so many seasonal items to choose from, any one could be used as colorful inspiration for Animal Crossing: New Horizons craft projects.
