Budgam, October 20: The 11th Capacity Building Program for Sozni Embroidery Craftsmen of Budgam District was held at the Assembly Hall of Beerwah Budgam Municipality on Thursday. -Ministry of Trade and Industry Government of India.

The program brought together more than 50 hand-embroidery artisans from Sozni, including national and state winners from various regions and handicraft groups in the Budgam district. The resource persons and faculty who participated in the program were Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Parray, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies at IUST University, as well as master trainers from the School of Crafts and the Department of hand weaving, Mr. Showket Ahamd and his team. Other trainers who interacted with the artisans are Mr. Iqbal Fayaz Jan Deputy Director PHDCCI-J&K, Smt Khalida Rifat, Head of Handicraft Training (HTO) Beerwah, Mr. Tasaduq Hussain, Deputy Head of Handicraft Training (AHTO), Mr. Syed Bilal Bukhari, Junior Craft Instructor (JCI) Sozni, Mr. Mohd Ashraf (SCI) Kani Shawl

Craftsmen were acquainted with the latest trends to put their creativity to use according to market demands and a detailed presentation on the latest designs and fashion in Sozni’s art was discussed in detail. Artisans were also educated on the latest e-commerce platforms and digital marketing, the importance of packaging and improving quality. Craftspeople were also informed about the latest programs and direct marketing channels for the crafts sector.

Sozni artisans were invited to visit the design school where they will receive a new Sozni art design template for free. Craftsmen have been told to visit the design school often for the latest designs and improving the quality of your products.

While applauding the role of the handicrafts department and PHDCCI for organizing such a wonderful sensitization workshop, Sozni embroidery artisans from Budgam district said that they gained and enriched a lot through the two-day program. days and that they would adopt the techniques learned in the packaging, design and e-Marketing of their products.
