“Beadwork for Jewelry: Earrings” is scheduled for Monday and Wednesday, March 28 and 30, from noon to 3 p.m. each day at the Rehoboth Art League. Beadwork is the process of stitching beads onto a fabric or other base material to embellish the surface.
The course will provide the basic knowledge to create a personalized pair of pearl embroidered earrings. Participants will learn the stitches needed to create peyote bezel and edging. The choice of materials and tools will be discussed.
“Beadwork is relaxing and easy to learn. It can be done by anyone familiar with a needle and hand thread,” the reps noted.
The instructor will supply the needles, thread, seed beads, foundation, backing and cabochons. Participants can choose between hooks or clip-on earrings. In addition to the registration fee of $85 per person, there is a materials fee of $40 to be paid to the instructor.
To register for a course, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call RAL at (302) 227-8408, ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League, located at 12 Dodds Lane in Rehoboth Beach.
