Champion and Percival’s collab is all about the embroidery – these are our favorite pieces

Percival may be a small UK-based menswear brand, but they’ve been making a splash over the past year. For their latest collaboration, Percival has teamed up with Champion on a collection called Bedfellows. The collection consists of classic Champion reverse weave sweatshirts embroidered with florals, birds and other nature-inspired images. Each piece playfully incorporates Champion’s distinctive “C” logo into the embroidery.

You don’t need to know Percival to have seen the brand before. If you’ve taken a look at a red carpet in the past year, you’ve probably seen at least one Percival piece. Chris Evans wore a full placket Percival polo shirt. Tom Holland wears Percival, Paul Mescal wears Percival, Dwayne The Rock Johnson wears Percival. Every celebrity and their mom (or more likely, their stylist) buys this understated British brand. Unlike many celebrity favorites, however, Percival is decidedly more accessible. Between $150 and $250 for a knit polo shirt, Percival isn’t cheap, but the brand’s products don’t fetch nearly what you might expect.

As well as being endorsed by the hottest men in Hollywood, we love Percival because it makes a lot of pieces that fit the trends we were particularly excited about last year, namely knitted polo shirts which are inspired by Talented Mr. Ripley see. For a UK-based brand, Percival does summer items well. And now that we are in autumn, the brand has delivered the work jackets and sweats we’ll live in until the warm weather returns.

Champion, on the other hand, hardly needs an introduction. The American sportswear brand has been around for over 100 years and is best known for inventing the hoodie. Champion also developed reverse weave, a horizontal knitting technique that helps sweatshirts resist shrinking. Percival took classic Champion reverse weave pieces like sweatshirts, hoodies and sweatpants and embroidered them with everything from koi fish to root vegetables. This is part of another quiet trend we have observed, namely nature-inspired graphics. If it’s too hot where you are to sweat, Percival also made Champion t shirts.

Men’s clothing enthusiasts might also recognize the models that Percival tapped to display the new collection. Lawrence Schlossman and James Harris of Throwing Fits (nicknamed “Men’s Fashion Shock Jocksby The New Yorker), have worn the collection with their typically irreverent approach to style.

This is the third collaboration between Champion and Percival, and it follows Percival’s almost complete collaboration with Campari for the Negroni week. Champion pieces are made in Vietnam and embroidered by Percival in the UK. Sweatshirts and hoodies are $180, pants $135, and t-shirts $68. We recommend that you act quickly, as the collection is limited, with many pieces already sold. Check out our favorites below.
