Whether they’re digging in the dirt or rolling around in the grass, you can’t help but be charmed by the purity of the puppies. This is exactly why the artist @da_gaemee create adorable hand embroidery art of dogs being dogs. Each piece captures some of the joy dogs find in the smallest things.
“I just want to draw some happiness that can be found in everyday life and present a little smile to those who see my works,” da_gaemee told My Modern Met. “These days, I embroider on the lives of dogs who find happiness in even the little things. They are serious and passionate about tree branches, torn clothes, digging tunnels and even breaking sofas. I wanted to capture their passion and innocent happiness.
To enhance the realism of her works, da_gaemee often incorporates real materials into her embroideries. For example, in the depiction of two puppies digging in the ground, the artist actually mixed sand with glue and attached it to the fabric, giving the piece more depth and volume. Similarly, the portrait of two cheerful black labs carrying a big stick features a real stick that da_gaemee sewed into the composition. These clever touches make his art not only fun, but also relatable.
