Sozani Embroidery
A kind of amazing and intricate form of hand embroidery that includes a combination of basic stitches and reinforced stitches, Kashmiri Sozani embroidery is usually done by an expert “sozankar”. Popularly found on garments, shawls, pherans, and luxurious fabrics such as silk and pashmina, it is known for its vibrant colors and extreme visual appeal.

Paper mache
One of the most popular forms of handicrafts in Kashmir is papier-mâché, a form of handicraft said to have its origins in Persia. Meticulously made and resembling everything from a butterfly to a flower, there is no shortage of shapes that papier mâché can take. Currently, a variety of aesthetic products such as decorative pieces, bowls, cups, trays and jewelry boxes are available in Kashmir. Crewel Embroidery

One of the most popular trees in Kashmir, walnut trees are known for their delicious and beneficial kernels, as well as their powerful and deeply fragrant wood which finds relevance in various forms of furniture and decorative items such as trays, boxes and candle holders. The wood of a walnut tree is of superior quality due to its even tone and fine texture, which makes it easier to maneuver.
