embroiderer Sew Beautiful shows the beauty of forests through their trees. Using colorful yarn and much French knot stitch, the UK-based design depicts nature scenes with large woods full of leaves as well as many fields of flowers. Contained within circular hoops, each frame offers a panoramic view of a pretty landscape; if you fancy getting out and enjoying nature, Sew Beautiful’s pieces are a welcome visual escape.
Some of Sew Beautiful’s most striking pieces feature the use of organza, a sheer fabric that can make stitches appear to float. This is exemplified by pieces in which we look at the treetops from a grounded vantage point.
The inspiration for these types of works came from outside. “I love embroidering nature, trees, flowers and animals, especially capturing breathtaking landscapes,” Sew Beautiful told My Modern Met. “Living in the English countryside, I am surrounded by nature. During one of my nature walks, I found myself staring at the trees and seeing how the sun was shining. I knew I had to capture this on an organza hoop to reflect my vision.
