Plymouth’s Tom Daley to release knitting book in autumn this year

The book will be released in October and will contain 40 exclusive knitting patterns

Tom Daley, from Plymouth, Olympic diving champion and avid knitter, is due to publish a knitting book of his own designs in October this year. Tom started knitting during the 2020 lockdown and has been seen at events around the world with a pair of knitting needles in his hands.

The book is titled ‘Made with Love’, after the diver’s collection of brightly colored knitting kits, which have proven popular with novices and beginners alike. This new venture will feature 40 exclusive knit and crochet patterns, with wardrobe staples and chic homewares gracing the pages.

Announcing the surprise release on Twitter, Tom said: “It’s no secret that I’m completely obsessed with knitting!! Bring on the knitting!

The book will contain helpful knitting tips from The Diver, with the aim of encouraging readers to learn about the craft and discover the joys of knitting and crocheting. Tom has already said that knitting is a good distraction when he’s competing.

The diver’s announcement has been met with overwhelmingly positive responses on social media, with fans saying they’ve already pre-ordered the book, which is due out October 27 in the UK, and is available to pre-order now.
