Textile artist Fenny Suter from Suter Design & Co. creates 3D paintings you can touch. Her extraordinary embroidery art evokes the different tactile sensations of a day at the beach, from the cool splashes of the tide to the smoothness of the sand to the softness of the leaves.
Suter, who learned to sew at the age of nine, says, “I love the embroidery process. It’s slightly obsessive and repetitive, but also meditative. Her passion for sewing led her to create her own design company, where she is the artist and designer of all pieces. “Suter Design & Co. was founded as a way to capture and share my love of life’s simple and nuanced moments through embroidery,” says Suter on his website.
Many of his lush designs feature dazzling cerulean seascapes with tiny human figures lounging in the water. They seem to capture a fleeting moment in time, where everything is filled with a sense of serenity.
