Tom Daley’s New ‘Made With Love’ Cover Is Out And It’s As Vibrant As You Expected
Tom Daley has unveiled the brand new cover of his first knitting book. “Made With Love” is set to be released on October 27.
The Plymouth champion diver has been an avid knitter since 2020, after taking up needlework during the pandemic. Her new book, named after her brand of knitting kits, contains 40 individual patterns for colorful homewares, accessories and wardrobe essentials.
In 2021, the star told the BBC he “fell in love” with the craft when he had trouble sitting still. He said: “My coach always tells me, ‘You need to rest.’ But if there’s a closet that needs sorting out, I’ll sort out the closet.
“It was actually Lance who said that on set people were knitting squares just to pass the time and I was like, OK, I’ll try that. So I started trying it, and I fell in love with it and here we are. When I say I’m obsessed with knitting, I would knit on the way, on the bus to the pool, on the bus home from the pool, in the stands, whenever I had a spare moment.
Tom’s hand-knit cardigan from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics went viral on social media last year, and he’s since launched the ‘Made With Love’ knit kit brand. Kits come with needles, thread, and the pattern needed to make a specific item from the website.
The 28-year-old has since branched out into crochet and macrame, and now, his own knitting book. With the book, Tom Daley hopes to inspire the next generation of crafters by introducing them to the very basics of knitting, as well as exciting patterns to get them started.
Throughout the book, readers can learn about knitting, purling and crochet alongside Tom’s helpful tips and tricks. The book is slated for release on October 27, giving crafters just enough time to make a Christmas gift or two.
